Crisis Intervention

This dynamic course equips you with the skills to effectively intervene in crisis situations. Understand the strategies and approaches to provide immediate and effective support, making a real difference when it matters to people the most. This class is vital for ministers especially and aspiring chaplains ready to bring peace where there is chaos. Learn to be a calming and competent presence in the face of crisis.

 

Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking addresses a crucial and challenging topic worldwide, preparing chaplains to recognize and respond to cases of trafficking. Hint: It happens where you least expect it. Learn of real life situations from instructors of struggle, survival and rescue; the signs and the sensitive approach required in such situations, equipping you with the knowledge to make a significant difference in the lives of those affected.

Dealing With Emotions

Explore the complex world of emotions in our 'Dealing With Emotions' class. This course offers a profound understanding of emotional dynamics and practical strategies for managing and responding to emotions, both in yourself and in those you assist. Get ready for an insightful journey into emotional intelligence that will empower your chaplaincy with compassion and sensitivity.

 

Story Listening

Story Listening is more than just hearing words; it's connecting deeply with the stories of those you serve. Learn the subtle art of listening to stories in a way that fosters trust and empathy. This course will equip you with the skills to not just hear, but to truly understand and respond to the narratives of individuals from diverse backgrounds, enriching your chaplaincy with every story you encounter.

The Team

Pastor Jeannine Hinds, MD

Dr. Hinds, with her exemplary academic background and a deep commitment to both medical and spiritual wellness, is an esteemed addition to the Chaplaincy Certification Academy as an instructor. Graduating Cum Laude from Northwestern University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology/Pre-Med, she advanced her expertise in medicine by earning a doctoral degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, followed by a residency at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL. Further broadening her scope, Dr. Hinds holds a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

In her professional capacity, Dr. Hinds practices as a family physician with Honor Health and a licensed counselor at Destiny’s Door Counseling in Phoenix, AZ. She actively serves as an assistant pastor at Free to Worship Ministries. This role is complemented by her several years of experience as a campus pastor.

Additionally, Dr. Hinds is a self-published author, itinerant speaker, and national evangelist. She is also the founder of two impactful nonprofits, Hinds Mobile MD and Oasis Ministries, focusing on holistic health and serving the disadvantaged in Maricopa County, Arizona. As a dedicated wife and mother, Dr. Hinds embodies a balance of professional excellence and community involvement.

Dr. Valerie Simpson

Dr. Valerie Simpson is a respected Senior Associate Pastor at Greater Apostolic Faith Temple Church in Detroit, Michigan.

In her leadership capacities, Dr. Simpson has been a trailblazer as the first female President of the Michigan State Council Youth Department

Her academic accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science in Business Communications from Rochester College, a Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University, a Master of Theology from Destiny Christian University, and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management from Capella University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She further expanded her expertise with a Post Graduate Certification in Gerontology from Wayne State University.

Professionally, Dr. Simpson contributes as a Chaplain with the Detroit Police Department’s 4th Precinct and in end-of-life care at Seasons Hospice. Her previous role at Harper Hospital involved implementing a grief support program and overseeing Sunday worship services. Dr. Simpson's commitment to her faith and educational pursuits underscores her dedication to both her spiritual journey and professional endeavors.

Marin Stewart

Marin Stewart, a dedicated Inner Healing and Deliverance Minister, is a published author, itinerant speaker, and a trusted prophetic voice. Her journey encompasses a remarkable transformation, making her a valuable addition to the Chaplaincy Certification Academy as an instructor.

Marin's transition from overcoming international sex trafficking and two decades in the sex industry to a life of service and spiritual guidance is a testament to her resilience and faith. At the age of 41, she was radically saved by Jesus Christ and delivered from the sex industry. 

Her work extends to serving as an Advocate and Case Manager for commercially sexually exploited children and adults, where she applies her insights and compassion to aid in recovery and empowerment. Marin has actively raised awareness about commercial sexual exploitation and trafficking through various platforms, including podcasts, radio shows, TV appearances, and speaking engagements at universities, churches, and significant forums like the Helsinki Commission in Washington, DC.

Marin's passion for education, her commitment to exposing and combating the works of evil, and her focus on restoration through the power of Jesus Christ define her approach to ministry and teaching.
